Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Kate Bohan

If you read the Village Facebook page or are a recent Village volunteer, chances are you already know Kate Bohan. For the rest of you, this is your chance to get to know one of our Village super-volunteers. Kate has taken on increasing responsibility during the pandemic, and now as we begin to reopen is focused on ways to beef up the volunteer roster. A particular priority is recruiting more volunteer drivers as Village members are starting to get out more.

A personal priority is more travel. A Southern California native, Kate likes to stay on the move. She and a friend managed one recent cross-country road trip, and she’s hoping now to be able to visit Puerto Rico. After college she spent three years in Japan, teaching English to elementary school students. She found her way to the DC area about five years ago to work for an organization that sends U.S. college students to study abroad.

If you get into Rock Creek, you might spot Kate on the trails - running is a favorite pastime and our local park a favorite destination since she moved to Woodley Park.
