The Village will host a virtual symposium on Sunday, December 5th for those who serve older adults in our community and want to increase their knowledge and skills.
From 4-5pm, direct service providers to older adults in our area will participate in a conversation led by Christine Bitze from Seabury Resources for Aging to explore:
Signs of social isolation in older adults
Strategies for creating a meaningful and effective engagement with older adults
Future training needs for service providers (paid or volunteers)
Following the symposium, Cleveland & Woodley Park Village will compile a resource directory with a brief description of programs and services offered by each faith community or service provider and share their contact information.
Training materials from the second part of the program will be made available on our website. We'll also be scheduling future quarterly training opportunities. This event is free and open to all who are interested. If you are a member of a faith community that serves older adults, please contact Frank to ensure that a representative from your community will be present at this important event.
This event is made possible by the generous support of All Souls Episcopal Church in Woodley Park.
