The Department of Public Works will provide leaf collection service on November 1, 2021 through January 15, 2022 to residents who receive their trash and recycling services. There will be two sweeps of all served neighborhoods.
How it Works
DC households serviced by DPW are asked to rake leaves into the tree box or at the curb in front of their home where there is no tree box by the Sunday of their scheduled collection week.
IF you live EAST of Connecticut Avenue in Cleveland and Woodley Park, have your leaves raked by October 31 and first pick up will occur November 1 to November 6
If you live WEST of Connecticut Avenue in Cleveland and Woodley Park, have your leaves raked by November 14 and first pick up will occur November 15 to November 20
DPW has built a website where you can check the status of collection in your neighborhood. Click here, enter your address.
The leaf collection schedule could be disrupted by weather events and personnel changes due to the pandemic. If your leaves were not collected, please call 311 (202-737-4404) or visit 311.dc.gov to open a "Leaf Season Collection" service request.
