New members are always welcome to join one of our two book clubs! Here is what the groups are reading in January:
The Book Club will meet on Tuesday, January 4 at 1:30 pm via Zoom. The group will be reading The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray, which tells the remarkable, little-known story of Belle da Costa Greene, J. P. Morgan's personal librarian—who became one of the most powerful women in New York despite the dangerous secret she kept in order to make her dreams come true. Register here.
The Second Chapter will meet on Monday, January 17 at 2:00 pm to discuss Vanderbilt: The Rise and Fall of an American Dynasty, by Anderson Cooper and Katherine Howe. The book chronicles the rise and fall of a legendary American dynasty, the Vanderbilts. The discussion will take place at Sandy Rubin's apartment. Register here.
