Support "Feed the Family"

We invite the community to support Feed the Family, a newly opened, 100-percent volunteer-run pantry serving our neighbors who have struggled to keep food on the table throughout the pandemic. The need is deep, including here in Ward 3.

The pantry is located at the rear of 4225 Connecticut Ave. NW, in space generously provided by UDC. It is open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays to distribute fresh produce and cleaning supplies – items that many of our neighbors cannot afford.

Please make a habit of dropping off cleaning supplies and carry bags at our weekly donation drives! We are open every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to receive donations.

We especially need small- to medium-sized, unopened containers of dish and laundry detergent, bleach, disinfectant and surface cleaners such as Lysol and Pine Sol or equivalent generics, disinfectants, sponges, rubber gloves, scrubbers, white vinegar, baking soda – all the things you use to keep your homes clean. Donations of high-quality masks are welcome, as well as toilet paper, tissues, and aluminum foil. We also appreciate donations of clean reusable and paper bags with strong handles.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and wonderful neighborhood spirit!

DIRECTIONS:

Walking, cycling or driving on Connecticut Avenue toward downtown Washington, turn left at the light onto Veazey Terrace and then right into the alley directly across from the Van Ness Center Giant. We are in the first building on the right.
