Coming in January
The Village is seeking members to join a group effort in January to support brain health - especially for those who might be experiencing Mild Cognitive Impairment or early-stage dementia. StrongerMemory by Goodwin House provides a curriculum designed to stimulate the brain’s prefrontal cortex, which governs our ability to retrieve memories.
Participants will do independent work every day for 30 minutes (e.g., quickly doing simple math problems, writing or journaling, reading aloud), and the group will meet with Frank Finamore once a week for an hour. Those who would like to be in the group will have to commit to meeting for 8 weeks; once the program starts, new members won't be able to join until the next 8-week period.
Through consistent use of StrongerMemory exercises, participants have notice improvement in their ability to focus, find misplaced items and remember conversations.
If you are interested in participating, please e-mail the Village office.
