How to Help Families in Friendly Gardens Building Explosion Aftermath

Writer's picture: VillageVillage

I know this apartment complex and the people who live there, having once served on the board of directors for Friends Nonprofit Housing Inc.

Years ago, Montgomery County set aside this area of Silver Spring for affordable housing. Friendly Gardens was the only project ever built there. The apartments have two, three and four bedrooms and thus served many families with children.

A member currently serving on the board said it is too early to know the full extent of the damage. All the tenant families are accounted for but it is unknown if any visitors are buried in the damaged building. If people want to help these families rebuild their lives, the best way is to donate money Here is a link to the Montgomery County Housing Partners website donation page: https://mhpartners.org/help-families-affected-by-lyttonsville-rd-fire/ One more tragedy in the long list of people suffering in our community and the world. Thank you for your consideration
