From Frank … you have a story to tell!

One thing I’ve leaned on over the years is how much I rely on the experiences shared by the people who have mattered in my life. From my mom to relatives to Village members and volunteers. The stories I have heard repeated provide guidance and perspective that we all need as we face the problems life throws our way.

That’s why I’m excited to share that the Village has embarked on an ambitious effort to record oral histories of our members. I know so many of you have a lifetime of experiences that others would love to hear. With the help of Village member and informal Woodley Park historian, Judy Waxman, and a hoped for grant from DC Humanities, we will begin the project to collect stories in May and wrap up by Thanksgiving. We would love to include your story … if you’re interested, please email me at Frank@CWPV.org or call 202-615-5853 as soon as possible.

Next Lunch Bunch: Cactus Cantina

Wednesday, March 15 at noon our monthly “Lunch Bunch” will meet at Cactus Cantina. We have many new members and it’s a great way for everyone to get to know each other at a very casual event. Everyone has an interesting background and who doesn’t like chips and salsa?!

Help us Grow Our Membership

Over the last few years we’ve seen an incredible growth of our membership, a 50% increase in just over two years. We’re close to breaking the 200 mark and would love to be even larger to diversify our membership and programming.

Will you help us by referring friends and neighbors? With two types of membership there is something for everyone. The details of each are located on our website at www.CWPV.org/join.

Together, we are making a statement: older adults are an important part of our community.
