Sometimes the anticipation of an event is part of the fun. That’s the case for me with our annual Summer Spritz virtual fundraising gala this year. I’ve had the opportunity to interview and discuss aging, our Village, and our core values with many interesting people, such as our guest speaker, Mo Rocca, and DC Council Member Anita Bonds whose mother is also in her nineties. These discussions have touched my heart in so many ways because inevitably they bring to the forefront how we appreciate, support, and love one another. That is the essence of what our Summer Spritz will celebrate on Thursday, July 29th at 7pm.
Counting Down: Two Weeks Until the Spritz
With two weeks before the big show, we’ve sold nearly 50 tickets and hope to quintuple that and reach 250 people attending the virtual event. Tickets are just $25 per household and attending it will be as easy as clicking on a link! In addition to our guest speakers and heartfelt videos about our values, we have some fun (secret) surprises planned and amazing auction items, including Nats tickets (with parking!) donated by the Council Member Bonds! We’ve also got theatre tickets, getaways, dining, jewelry, furniture, art, and more! Now, we just need you to join us! To purchase your tickets, just go to www.CWPV.org/spritz where you’ll also see the impressive list of sponsors and major auction donors.
Gathering Together IRL (In Real Life)
Finally, just this week we had a happy hour for volunteers. More than 25 people joined me at my home. Many volunteers who joined during the pandemic, met other volunteers for the first time. It was a great honoring of the people that make this organization hum. Our board of directors, committee leaders, drivers, handy people, tech tutors, shoppers, visitors, etc. make the neighborhood organization possible.
Thank you for all that you do. See you at the Spritz!
