Woodley Park Main Street Holiday Lights

A message from Jennifer Kuiper, WPMS Executive Director, about the DC Holiday Lights competition. Our Village's own Executive Director Frank Finamore will be a judge!

Dear Woodley Park Community,

WPMS Holiday Lights has begun! For the month of December, 30+ Woodley Park businesses and neighborhood organizations have decorating their buildings to bring that extra sparkle just for you! A special shout out to David DeSantis of TTR Sotheby's International Realty and Headfirst Summer Camps for their donation to light up trees lining the neighborhood's commercial corridor. And to Woodley Park Community Association for decorating the vacant space at 2633 CT Ave.

Here's how you, friends and family can (safely) enjoy this community event:

  • Stroll Woodley Park to see all the decorations. Here's the list/map of Where to See Lights, including special discounts offered at individual locations. Don't miss the lighted trees at the iconic The Kennedy-Warren apartments and festive window display at the historic Omni Shoreham Hotel!

  • Vote here for your favorite displays to nominate the People's Choice Award (closes December 14). By voting, you automatically qualify for free raffle prizes donated by participating businesses.

  • Check out all 12 DC Main Streets participating in the multi-neighborhood DC Holiday Lights!

  • Participate all month in the DC Holiday Lights Scavenger Hunt. The more Items you complete, the better your chances to win great prizes!

  • Vote for WOODLEY PARK as BEST DC Holiday Lights neighborhood! (Item #21 in Scavenger Hunt). We are small but mighty!

  • Sign-Up to join the DC Holiday Lights Virtual Award Ceremony on Dec 16, 6pm when winners will be announced! All attendees get a Secret Code for the Scavenger Hunt + lots of prizes in the Virtual Swag Bag.

We know this has been a tough year so please enjoy the gift of light neighborhood businesses have brought at the end of a gloomy year. Share your love with these local shops by buying gifts, dining-in or taking-out, and enjoying lots of wonderful services. Let's make sure these retail community members are still with us in 2021!

See you in the neighborhood!

Jennifer Kuiper, WPMS Executive Director
