From Frank ... not too early to plan for the holidays!

With the holiday season around the corner, I’m reminded it’s never too early to start planning. And one thing I’d like you think about is joining us for Thanksgiving dinner!

This year the Village has organized a Thanksgiving meal at 1pm at Lillies restaurant - just down the street from the Zoo on Connecticut Avenue. We will have a private room to enjoy a wonderful traditional Thanksgiving meal and conversation with neighbors. If you’d like to participate, we need to hear from you by this Monday – November 7. Please send an email to info@CWPV.org

The cost (to be paid directly to the restaurant) is $42 per person plus the cost of beverages, tax, and tip. I hope to be there to enjoy the afternoon with you.

Coming Up

  • Tuesday November 15 at 7pm we return to Tuesday Talks at the Cleveland Park Library. This in-person event will feature authors Peter Baker and Susan Glasser who will discuss their new book about the Trump White House, The Divider. Click here to register or go to www.TuesdayTalksDC.com to see all upcoming speakers or watch previous talks that were held virtually. We encourage you to wear masks at this in-person event.

  • On Wednesday, November 9th at noon, our Lunch Bunch will meet at Silver on Wisconsin Avenue for a casual lunch, outside under the heat lamps, if needed. Click here to register!

  • Thursday November 10th at 10am our Woodley Park walking group meets outside of Chipotle, at the corner of Connecticut Avenue and Calvert Street. If you’re able to join us, please register and we’ll send you reminders and let you know who else is walking. It’s a great way to meet new people, get some exercise, and enjoy the beautiful Fall weather! Click here to register for the November 10th walk.

I hope to see you at an upcoming event!

P.S. In last week’s column, I also asked for you to email me letting me know something for which you are thankful. I’d like to share those expressions of gratitude with all of you on Thanksgiving Day so please let me hear from you.
