The 2023 calendar continues to turn as we enter the first week of March. It’s always been a favorite time for me because of the longer days (remember daylight savings starts on March 12th), the blooming flowers and trees, and the occasional warm winds that greet me on my morning commute.
March is also Women’s History Month! Growing up with six older sisters and being raised by a single mother, there was never any question in my mind about the capabilities of women. But I’m pleased to see women leaders celebrated with an online exhibit at the National Women’s History Museum, and I hope that you’ll take a few moments this month to explore that experience. It’s an online museum experience with several exhibitions about trailblazing women.
New Games Group Meets in March
New this month we will add a new program, a games group on March 22nd from 3:30 -5:00 pm at the home of member, Mimi Cutler. This is the first new program to be implemented from the new Programs Team. You can RSVP online to join and participate.
Next Tuesday, March 7 at 11am, I will be giving a virtual presentation on our Village for the Sibley Senior Association. If you’re not yet a member of our Village, join me for this interactive session and learn a bit more about our growing community. Click here to register for the session.
We’re also looking for new program ideas. If you missed the first Programs Team meeting, we encourage you to come to the next and help us plan. Just send an email to info@cwpv.org or call 202-615-5853 and let us know that you’re willing to help!
Please check out the full calendar of events from our website. Click on “calendar” and you will find all our programs as well as programs offered by other DC Villages which are open to our members.
I hope to see you out and about in the neighborhood, enjoying the blooms of March.
