From Claire...

As we move deeper into the fall season, we’re delighted to share a wonderful slate of Village programs and gatherings designed to bring our community together. Whether you’re looking for great music or lively conversation, there’s something for everyone in the coming days.
Our first event is tomorrow, Saturday, October 25 at 2:00 PM, when we’ll gather at McLean Gardens for a free community bluegrass concert featuring Seneca Creek Bluegrass. This talented group will bring the warmth and joy of traditional bluegrass to the lovely outdoor setting of the Porter Street Lawn at 3840 Porter Street NW. We invite you to bring a friend, relax, and enjoy an afternoon of live music. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs, but if you’ll need one provided, please let us know when you register so we can plan accordingly.
Next up, on Tuesday, October 28 at 6:45 PM, will be the next Tuesday Talk: “The Tenth Justice,” featuring Seth Waxman. Mr. Waxman, one of the nation’s most respected Supreme Court and appellate advocates, served as the 41st Solicitor General of the United States from 1997 through January 2001. Sometimes referred to as the “Tenth Justice,” the Solicitor General represents the interests of the United States before the Supreme Court and holds a unique and influential position within our legal system. This promises to be a fascinating evening for anyone interested in law, government, or the inner workings of the Supreme Court. Then, on Wednesday, October 29 at 12:00 PM, it’s time for our monthly Men’s Lunch, which will be held at Silver this month. The Men’s Lunch is a great opportunity to enjoy a relaxed midday meal and connect with other Village members in a casual setting. There’s no set program—just good company, good food, and good conversation. Everyone will have a separate check for lunch.
Finally, on Sunday, November 2 at 1:30 PM, we’ll gather at the Cleveland Park Library for a special program in recognition of National Family Caregiving Month. In partnership with the library, we’ll be showing highlights from the film Caregiving, followed by a panel discussion. The discussion will feature valuable information about local resources available to care partners and families in our area. Whether you’re a caregiver yourself or simply want to learn more about the many ways our community supports those in caregiving roles, this program offers both insight and encouragement.
We hope you’ll join us for one—or all—of these upcoming programs. They’re a great way to connect with neighbors, learn something new, and enjoy what makes our Village so special.
Stay tuned for our November calendar of events, which will be released next week with even more opportunities to come together and celebrate community life.
