Volunteer Profile: Meet Marty Ferris

Cleveland Park resident and Village Volunteer Marty Ferris has enjoyed being a Friendly Visitor to Village Members. “Everyone has an interesting story to tell,” he said recently, adding that he also has run errands for Members.

Marty was born and raised in Lansdowne PA, near Philadelphia. He graduated from Drexel University with a degree in Mathematics, and then he worked at the National Security Agency in cryptography, and, later, at the Department of Treasury in information security.

He stays busy by researching his family history, including at the National Archives which was very rewarding. Marty keeps fit by walking, feeding birds and squirrels, and caring for his cat.
