A medical note taker is a volunteer who accompanies a member to a medical appointment, listens well, takes notes, and provides the notes to the member in a timely fashion. Village volunteers who would like to be trained to perform this function are invited to join an upcoming training session being led by Northwest Neighbors Village Executive Director Stephanie Chong on Wednesday, October 20th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.
The training will cover:
Why medical notes matter in today's healthcare environment
The role of the medical note taker
The differences between medical note taking and medical advocacy
How confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines are applied
This training is open to all active volunteers at all DC Villages. Register here.
