February 15 has been set as "DC Villages Day" by Mayor Muriel Bowser. The Mayor's proclamation recognizes the thriving Village movement in the District, noting that the city is home to 13 Village organizations that provide a "cost-effective, sustainable solution for healthy vibrant aging" and noted the many services the Village's provide DC seniors including "access to transportation, health, and wellness programs, in-home assistance ... social and educational activities and more".

The Washington Area Villages Exchange (WAVE) is excited to celebrate this milestone along with the national Village To Village Network (VtVN). WAVE will host a virtual party 4 - 5 p.m. Tuesday, February 15th. We'll share experiences about how we got here and share ideas about where we’re going. Bring your bubbly beverage of choice and we’ll raise our glasses to the past progress and future growth. Can't make the full hour? No worries! Drop in when you can to say "hello" and share in celebrating all things Village!
