The Village strives to create a supportive neighborhood where older residents thrive and are a vital thread in the fabric of our community. Currently we serve 156 members in the Cleveland Park and Woodley Park neighborhoods through organized social activities and direct assistance for those that need it. We are a volunteer led 501c3 not-for-profit. Your tax-deductible contribution is an investment in our community and allows us to serve our neighbors by supporting the organization of events and volunteers. There are many ways you can offer financial support for the Village. You can donate by credit card here or send a check to PO BOX 11231, Washington, DC 20008. There are some other ways to give to the Village that take just a little planning:
Donate through a workplace giving program such as Benevity
Designate the Village to receive direct distributions from your IRA to meet your required minimum distribution (if you are 70 1/2 or older)
Make a gift of publicly traded stock
Establish a charitable lead trust, which will allow the Village to receive income from stock or other assets for a defined period, after which the trust assets are distributed to your family or other beneficiaries of the trust
Consider contributing to the Village through a donor advised fund that you may establish with the Greater Washington Community Foundation or any other entity that administers such funds
Ensure the Village's financial future with a legacy gift:
Name the Village as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401K, or other qualified retirement plan
Designate the Village as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy or bank/brokerage account, or naming us in your will or trust
Fund a charitable remainder trust that will provide the Village with funds after your death (or the death of your surviving spouse) but provide income tax benefits now
Whatever you can do to help support our community is greatly appreciated! If you have any questions, please contact the Village office at 202-615-5853.
