Member Spotlight: Paul Didisheim
Paul Didisheim, 96 years young, has been a long-time member of CWPV. During his career, he worked for many years in Hematology research at the Mayo Clinic and later at the NIH in DC. He moved to Grand Oaks in November of this year and is slowly adjusting after living in his DC home for 36 years. He misses his beloved wife Ricarda very much, with whom he shared 69 happy years. He enjoys the food and friendly people at Grand Oaks and visits from family and close friends.
Encore Creativity for Older Adults Opens Registration to All for Fall Older adults who love to sing can join in song this fall with Encore Creativity for Older Adults, the nation’s largest choral arts organization for adults 55 and older. The fall season of singing is open for registration for all older adults across the nation. No auditions are required. Interested singers can register by calling (301) 261-5747. Encore Creativity for Older Adults is eager to welcome all older adults interested in singing to a new season of rehearsals beginning in early September. No prior experience with singing is necessary to join. Encore ensembles provide singers with a warm, uplifting community that reduces isolation and promotes healthy relationships in an excellent artistic environment. Rehearsals will run through late December, culminating in a holiday performance to light up the winter months. Ensembles are led by distinguished, professional conductors and meet for 90 minutes per week.
