Six intrepid Villagers toured the Gardens at Hillwood on Thursday morning, May 27, under the tutorage of volunteer tour guide, Joan. The tour started in the Visitors' Center with a brief lecture on the life of Marjorie Post, heiress to the Post cereal empire and wife of such notables as EF Hutton.
Starting at the Motor Court in front of the mansion, the walking tour included stops at the Rose Garden (where the cremains of MP are buried), the rear patio, the Putting Green, the Pavilion, and the Adirondack Building.
The tour ended with a lovely lunch at the Cafe and a stop at the Gift Shop. Pleasant weather made for a lovely day for a walk with friends.
